Counselor:
- Must have completed
one year of college or post high school equivalent. Responsible for
a group of 8-12 youth ranging from grades K-12. Program responsibilities
include leading a daily Bible Study (curriculum provided), participating
in and developing a worship service, leading games and activities, overnight
camp out experience, minister to the needs of all campers and staff,
and carry out the programs as defined. Special skills desired
include First Aid certification, CPR certification, musical and leadership
abilities, and/or lifeguard certification.
Other duties as assigned and requested by directors.
Day
Camp Director:
- Must
have completed one year of post high school education and have some
experience in the camping ministry. Responsible for directing the counseling
staff in the Day Camp program, assisting with the planning of the program,
explaining the materials during staff training, and coordinating each
weeks program with the congregational representative. Will be working
with youth grades K-6 and volunteers of all ages from 7th to adult.
Need to have a current drivers license. Get involved with the on site
programs when available. Other duties as assigned and requested by directors.
Minister to the needs of the campers and staff.
Maintenance
Assistant:
- Must
have graduated high school and have knowledge of operating equipment
such as mower, machinery, and power tools, etc. Work under the supervision
of the Maintenance person and the Executive Director. Duties include
mowing, hauling garbage, general repairs, and other duties as assigned
and requested. Get involved in the camp program when available. Need
to have a current driver's license. Minister to the needs of the campers
and staff.
Kitchen
Assistant:
- Must
have graduated high school and have knowledge of food preparation. Work
under the supervision of the Head Cook. Duties include the preparation
of daily meals, maintaining a clean and sanitary cooking and eating
facility, and other duties as assigned and requested. Get involved in
the camp program when available. Minister to the needs of the campers
and staff.
Head
Cook:
- Must
have completed two years of college or post high school equivalent.
Responsibilities include food preparation, maintaining a clean and sanitary
cooking and eating facility, ordering food, preparing the weekly menu,
and other duties as assigned and requested by the Directors. Get involved
in the camp program when available. Minister to the needs of the campers
and staff.
Camp
Health Care Manager:
- Must
have completed two years of college or post high school equivalent and
have Standard First Aid and CPR certifications. Responsibilities include
handing out daily medications, dealing with all medical related happenings,
get involved with the program when able, and other duties as assigned
and requested by the Directors. Minister to the needs of the campers
and staff.
Assistant
Program Director:
- Must
have completed two years of college or post high school equivalent and
have some previous camping experience. Duties include supervising staff,
leading daily activities, directing the Counselor-In-Training program,
assisting with registration, implementing and evaluating the entire
program, and other duties assigned and requested by the Directors. Special
skills desired include musical and leadership abilities, lifeguard certification,
and worship skills. Minister to the needs of the campers and staff.
Retreat
Coordinator:
- Must
have one year of camp experience. Special Skills desired include Life
guard Certification and self-motivation. Duties include working with
retreat groups during the week and setting up the schedule for weekend
groups. Other duties are to supervise housekeeping, assist in camper
registration, office staff assistance and other duties assigned and
requested by the Directors.
Program
Assistant for Specialty Camps:
- Must
have completed two years of college and have one year of camp experience.
PA is responsible for the coordination, organization and supervision
of Specialty programs at Shetek. Specialty programs include: All Star
Lutheran Choir, Christian Athlete Camp, Family Ministry programs, Sr.
High programs and Adventure Trips. The PA is the Shetek Staff contact
for Day Camp Coordinators. The PA is also responsible for the canteen
and all other duties as assigned and requested by the Directors.
Day
Camp Assistant:
- Must
be at least 16 years of age and have previous leadership experience.
Day Camp Assistants are primarily counselors on Shetek Day Camps. There
responsibilities include being responsible for a group of 8-10 K-6th
graders and assisting in the Day Camp program—leading bible studies,
games and worship.
This is an On-Call position, which means that
you may not be needed every week of the summer. Shetek will let you
know the weeks you are needed prior to the first week of camp.
